If you are shopping for men’s chino Lululemon shorts, often used by golfers, in 2023 you will likely notice that many types of shorts are sold out; especially in sizes 31, 32 and 33. You may wonder if you should break down and get Oxford, Ventlight Mesh or Canvas shorts since the Warpstreme are consistently sold out. Well, here is the difference:
Warpstreme
Warpstreme shorts are going to be the shorts that feel like the men’s “dress” pants more so than any other type of shorts. If you are looking to play golf, tennis or participate in any other athletic activity, the Warpstreme shorts are the ones you should go with. They have a little bit more of a Nike athletic shorts feel but with a professional look. The material is much more stretchy and will allow you to get that full swing during a round of golf.
We have noticed that in late 2020, the Warpstreme Lululemon shorts are a little tighter around the butt and quads. If you used to we a 32 you may need a 33 in the newest model. Some have told us that Warpstreme have gotten so tight in the quads they have to go to the Oxford or Ventlight Mesh.
Oxford
The Oxford shorts are much more of the old school Abercrombie, American Eagle or Aeropostale type cargo short feel. If you want something that is more of a khaki shorts type feel with a thicker cotton fabric, Oxford is the way to go. Note that Oxford also has many more pastel colors like light blue, light purple and white. These types of shorts will go very well on the beach and at frat parties.
Ventlight Mesh
The Ventlight Mesh shorts are a very unique fabric. Unlike Warpstreme, the Ventlight Mesh fabric seems to be more loose. If you wear a 32 you will find the 32 in Warpstreme are a light bit tighter through the butt and quads than the Ventlight Mesh. If you have thick legs and the Warpstreme are too tight, you may want to give the Ventlight Mesh a try. Note that Ventlight Mesh does not have the athletic feel of the Warpstreme.
