We are now heading into the spring of 2024 and there is still not a physical Lululemon location in Gainesville, Florida. The over 60,000 college students at the University of Florida are anxiously waiting this store.
Once upon a time there was a Lululemon store in Gainesville, Florida at 3730 Southwest Archer Road, Suite 210 Gainesville, FL 32608. That seasonal location has since closed and all UF students are left wondering when a Lululemon store is going to come to The Oaks Mall or near the Chick-Fil-A, Target and Whole Foods. There have been a number of universities that sell Lululemon apparel in their student bookstores (Alabama, Penn State, etc) and the University of Florida is one of them. That said, the products are limited and are all branded with Gators. If you want regular Lululemon leggings or apparel you are going to have to drive to the closest location in Jacksonville.
The process of building out a Lululemon store does not happen overnight. Most of the time, it takes up to six (6) months once a physical location has been determined. After the lease is signed there is demolition and the build out of the entire store. One would imagine that Lululemon would really want to get a Gainesville, Florida store open before late October 2023 as this is when the holiday shopping season really starts.
