On Wednesday, May 1st, 2025 many diehard Lululemon fans started to receive a text that they could be a Lululemon ambassador through an NIL. Those not in the know, NIL stands for Name, Image and Likeness. This is the negotiation that was made in which college athletes can be paid. Not so ironically, Lululemon would never send out a random text message for many reasons. The main reason is Lululemon does not know the phone numbers of customers that are college athletes. There is no way to verify that a phone number is a college athlete that can receive NIL money.
If you have received this text and you are a college athlete or if you are not a college athlete, know that this is fake and is not real.
The reason that this became such a big deal is scammers love to use social media. Anyone that is in the United States or Canada knows that Lululemon is all over TikTok and social media. These scammers are trying to con college students out of their information and money. Do not click the link in this text message.
UPDATE: May 2nd, 2025. There is an app title NILClub and the information for the website and app reads, “NIL Club App. The #1 app for getting NIL deals. Lululemon Logo. +. Yoke Logo. You’ve been invited to the lululemon NIL deal. Join now through the app.” When you click the link on Google, the page redirects to scan a QR code and download the app. This is what the website looks like before the page redirects. There is no NIL Club App in the Apple App Store.

Once again, how can you accept a deal when you are not a college athlete that can receive NIL money. This is likely more of an app to offer discounts of fake Lululemon products. We will continue the deep dive and update you with more information.
Note that Yoga instructors and other group fitness instructors can join Sweat Collective. “As a part of Sweat Collective, you’ll get 25% off* lululemon products, help us improve designs, and have access to special events.” This is a 25% discount on yoga apparel from Lululemon used to teach group fitness, not an NIL deal or a random app.
